Principal
Dear Riccardi Families and Friends:
Happy May! The week of Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8 is Staff Appreciation Week, and Wednesday, May 6 is National Nurses’ Day. I would like to thank the entire Riccardi Elementary School faculty and staff as well as Nurse Lynda for all that they do. Their dedication to our students and families makes me proud to be the principal of such a wonderful school community. A big thank you to the wonderful Riccardi PTA, Stone Pony Catering, and Adams Fairacre Farms for their generosity and thoughtfulness, making this a memorable and fun week for all faculty and staff.
Now that the warmer weather is upon us, our students get to spend more time enjoying outdoor recess with lots of running on the grass and playing on the playground equipment. In the interest of safety, I would like to remind everyone of the importance of proper footwear for your child. Sneakers or rubber-soled footwear are required for students to play on the equipment and to participate in outdoor activities with their classmates. As a rule of thumb, if it’s appropriate for P.E. class, it’s appropriate for recess. Thank you for supporting our safety procedures so that all students can enjoy their recess time. It is so nice to see them enjoying the playground!
Just a Reminder: There is no school for students on Tuesday, May 19 for Superintendent’s Conference Day.
On Tuesday, May 19, the VOTE on the 2026-2027 School Budget and Board of Education members will be held in the Junior High School Gym from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Please exercise your RIGHT TO VOTE! There will be signs to help direct voters.
Schools will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25. We remember and honor all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Wishing you and yours only the best as we head into the warmer months. Take care of yourself, and one another.
Sincerely,
Paul Tryon
