Dear Riccardi Families,

Hello March!  I am sure that you are all looking forward to warmer weather as much as I am. We kicked off February with the PTA’s Pick a Reading Partner (PARP), and I am so proud of those students who participated! Great job reading and filling in your Star Wars Galactic Passports! I send a big thank you to the Riccardi PTA as well as the Cahill, Morse and Jr. High PTAs, particularly Jessica Riozzi, for coordinating this fun-filled event for our students district-wide!

We all know how unpredictable the weather in March can be, so please continue to send your child to school with adequate winter gear, i.e. coats, hats, gloves, scarves, etc. We will continue to send students outside for recess unless the temperature falls below 20 degrees, factoring in windchill. Let’s hope for sunshine and warmer temperatures! 

Spring Family-Teacher Conference Night will take place on Thursday, March 6^th from 5 pm to 8 pm by appointment. I strongly believe that communication between families and teachers is key to students’ success. Teachers will reach out to individual families to schedule conferences, but please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher via email if you are interested in a conference. 

Friday, March 7^th will be a half day for all students for Saugerties CSD Staff Development Day. Riccardi students will be dismissed at 11 am. 

Spring Pictures and the 6^th grade group photo will be taken on Monday, March 10^th. All students will have their picture taken but there is no obligation to order prints. Please see the order form that was sent home last month for more information.

The 6^th grade Variety Show evening performance is Thursday, March 13^th at 7 pm in the Riccardi Cafeteria. We are very excited to see our talented 6^th graders perform!

Reminder, there is no school on Friday, March 21^st.
