Groundbreaking Ceremony on May 10

Standing in front of a wall on the northern side of Grant D. Morse Elementary School, Board of Education Trustees, school officials, the Student Council president as well as representatives from Tetra Tech and BBL Construction Services each dug a gold shovel into the dirt to symbolize the beginning of construction. Grant D. Morse is receiving an addition which will house a stage, something the school does not currently have.

Other projects include replacing windows, flooring and roofing, some of which have exceeded their life expectancy and are out of warranty. Each school entrance will be reconfigured to include a secure vestibule where visitors can be safely screened before being given access to the building. Other improvements include removing deteriorating asphalt in the parking lot at the High School and repaving it, and upgrading the High School’s original (circa 1958) auditorium space. These are just a few of the improvements planned over the next several months.

We thank everyone who supported the Proposition which helped make these facility upgrades possible and look forward to the opportunities that will come from these improvements.
