Santa's Ramp Project Soars to New Heights
Framed as a challenge to help Santa invent the perfect ramp to launch his sleigh, each design was tested and measured. Students observed how far their sleighs traveled, discussed the results, and then improved their ramps to make them work better.
Through this hands-on project, students explored science concepts such as force, motion, and incline. In technology and engineering, they practiced planning, building, and revising their ramp designs. Art came into play through the creative design of each sleigh, and math skills were used to measure and compare distances traveled.

Riccardi Elementary School marked the month with a fun assembly that focused on caring for those pearly whites. A local orthodontist shared how many baby teeth and adult teeth we have, talked about foods that help teeth stay strong and foods that can cause cavities, and reviewed the right way to brush and floss.
