After researching the Algonquin and Iroquoian tribes, the students each wrote an essay comparing and contrasting the two, in which they learned that the Algonquins built dome shaped houses called “wigwams”, and the Iroquoians built large houses (usually 100 ft in length) called “longhouses”.
The students then picked one of these two types of homes and let their creativity shine by building one of their own.
