How Do Seeds Travel?

To bring the lesson to life, students designed their own imaginary seeds—“Fluffadoos”! Using materials to mimic seed travel, they tested their creations to see which designs could go the furthest. This hands-on activity sparked creativity and critical thinking, while helping students understand the amazing adaptations plants use to spread their seeds.

Grade 2 students in Gina Pellegri's class at Riccardi Elementary School have been exploring the fascinating journey of seeds! They learned how seeds use wind, water, animals, and even mechanical "explosions" to travel and find the perfect spot to grow.
