OUR MISSION
We, the Board of Education, staff, students, parents, and community share responsibility for meeting the needs of students living in a rapidly changing, pluralistic society. We endeavor to create an atmosphere where people are accepted as individuals in a safe environment that fosters self-discipline, mutual respect, cooperation, and academic excellence.
News and Announcements
In honor of the anniversary of 9/11, Riccardi Elementary School’s Grade 6 students in Joseph Tiano's class have been learning about the impact of that tragic day. The class read personal accounts and explored how the events affected people worldwide through the powerful book 14 Cows for America by Carmen Agra Deedy. This true story recounts a heartfelt gesture by the Maasai people of Kenya, who offered 14 cows to the United States as a symbol of peace and healing after the attacks.
We're reflecting on the excitement of last week as students hopped off their buses, ready to kick off the school year with smiles all around. Even the bus drivers were beaming as they welcomed everyone back.
Don't forget! Fall picture day at the secondary campus will be October 1st and 2nd.
It's not just the first day of school for our students—it's also a big day for our amazing teachers throughout our District!
Today, we honor and celebrate the hard work and dedication of American workers. Labor Day, rooted in the labor movement, is a reminder of the contributions and achievements of workers across the nation.
The District wants to send our best wishes to all of our varsity and junior varsity teams. You've been practicing so hard these past few weeks, and we're so proud of you!
